Scanfest Day 3 nears its end. Here’s a Black Panther cover!

Kirby often based character likenesses on people he knew. He used my friend  ( and now co-worker for nearly 30 years) Carl Taylor for the likeness of a character in an issue of Black Panther. I believe thats the tall character on the right. In 1977 Carl helped organize a comics con at the library where he then worked. That was the FIRST comics convention I ever attended and I got to meet my lifelong hero Jack Kirby there for the first time also! -AND Scott Shaw!, Sergio Aragones and Mark Evanier! There were others ( Don Rosa probably?) but I forget exactly who. Somewhere or another I still have a copy of the wonderful flyer for the con that Carl drew.
